Picture from wikipedia page of Boss 429 Mustang
Boss 429 is one of the most classic and highly valued Ford Mustang, and Ford Mustang is always my favorite model ever since I knew it exists when I was 11 years old. Naturally, I took the chance to build one of my own cardboard version of Ford Mustang Boss 429.

Due to the limitation of the original speaker, all the ideal sounds effects are added during editing.
Table of different modes
Originally, I have two modes on my mind: first one is launching the engine and the second one is the warning light on while the motor will open the engine hood.
As I`m getting to know more about circuit python and starting think and design the sctructure of the car, I chose not to use motor and remove the engine hood opening from mode 2.
Side view draft
It is impossible to find any exsisting template of Boss 429 for cutting. With images of different side of the car and official dimensions, I was able to recreate each side of the car in Adobe Illustrator. While drawing the shapes, I need to think about how to deal with the edges and connections as well
You can probably tell from the image on left that there is side with windows, front and rear with space for light, top and chassis. My plan was cut all the sides out separately, then use another small piece of cardboard to connect and fortified them together.
When I was designing the basic shapes in illustrator, I didn`t think a lot about wheels, suspension and engine hood. After I have everything imported in cricut design, I manage to work these out with mainly imagination in my head: how to make the wheels rotatable, how the engine hood connect to the sides and front window. Luckily, everything turns out well and functioning in the way I thought it would be.
The basic frame of the car

The cardboard we are using is thicker than regular printing paper, yet it is not thick enough to block the light. Especially when the color of cardboard is white. I need to find a way to block the light otherwise it would be a car shaped lamp.
While I think multiple layers might be helpful, I managed to find some dark cardboard which I also used for windows, wheels and edge connections. At this point, besides the space near wheel, gap between windows and engine hood and trunk, the main body is lightproof.
It is required that all the electronic coponents used in this project need to be returned to equipment room once the documentation is down. I need to find a way to place the lights and board inside the car at certain positions, and they need to be detachable.
Front, Top, Rear
I came up with this structure which I could easily attach and detatch the front Light to and from the engine hood. It is simple enough that I use only waste paper from previous cutting to create it. At first I worries the rear light, which is the circut playground express, also needs to be attach to something, after I have the cable connected, it is solid stable. The dark cardboard holder is now mainly to prevent the red rear light from invading front space.
